Great report. I bet you were feeling the pressure to find them with your guests along and Im sure it felt great to cash in huge at the end.

Hey man, was hoping one of the experts would have chimed in by now but unfortunately for you it’s just me. That’s a lot further out than where most of this group has been catching them. Check out the recent fishing reports.

“I put a lot of work into 101 and didn’t see the impact I wanted to. Man, that hurt.”
I didn’t particularly like reading that so looked back on my intro on what I had to say about it. Still stand by what I said about its benefit primarily being helping me focus all of my wild ass misguided ideas into the things that actually help us catch fish. Maybe I didn’t say it kindly enough but that is HUGE!!! And that’s worth the price of admission x1000. This forum certainly helps keep those meandering, fake theories quelled and in line with the 101 ideas. I usually have some sort of audio content on que for commutes or walking the dog and as soon as I finish your Spring module and whatever boring-ass entrepreneurial operating systems book (EOS, iykyk) my boss has me reading then 101 will be in the chamber for the first re-listen just to make sure I’m not as cocky as I thought.
Quality and production of 101 is great and I hope to keep it as a scheduled re-listen at least once or twice a year.

Hope you do great out there Geremy. It would be great if the wind plays nice like it says it will, it’s been angry in my part of town. Maybe it’ll be somewhere in between so those bluebird skies won’t make them too nervous to get out and hunt without some camouflaging chop shadows. I’m going to take a week off so if you see someone following you around it might be an actual psycho this time. Or at least a different psycho.

Congrats on a great day. Sounds like the minnow activity is picking up. I only saw one little pod of them Saturday and the trout that I managed to catch had not been eating them.
The gar were thick in there last week too. Glad we didn’t tangle with one.
From your general descriptions, I would be surprised if our little PLH LAFB crowd hasn’t been catching all these fish in the same few spots. Hopefully you swore your friends to secrecy! Although like Devin said in another post this morning, might be time to jump to somewhere else.

Based only off of yesterday – and I know that’s a trap, but I would thin out the spots between 4 and 10 or move on if nothing is happening. That was a ghost town for me, or maybe they hadn’t turned on yet. I didn’t start really catching until the fog lifted. That would get you to the teen spots quicker. Keep an eye out for bait activity in the bayous connecting bigger water. The wind should let you get to those spots to the Southeast and figure out what’s there.

Kudos on getting those boys out there. And that’s a nice hawg with some shoulders on her.
Cool pic. In my mind I gave Geremy more room than that but from your angle I was sitting in his damn lap. I used to look for current and bait but my new secret is to look for a mossy oak clad avid.

If you ever hear of an ‘85 tracker out there telling stories then please let me know so I can disappear into South America or Eastern Europe before she gets deposed.

“Running a Bass Tracker XL”
Absolute meat hauler. My dad’s got a 1985 model that we refuse to get rid of and are about to redeck for the 3rd time. Has been used to harvest everything from snapper to wild turkeys. Harvested many of miller lites in that thing as well.

If you’re trailering and launching at ramps then you’ve outgrown the kayak. Used 30 year old bass tracker is the next stop. Most came stock with those old mariner 2-strokes that will probably out live people built the same year and may or may not run off of peanut oil and Copenhagen spit. Trolling motor optional -get a push pole, paddle and a marsh anchor and wear old shoes. Consider a snorkel and flippers if you ever try to get from Beshel’s to Wreck Bay.
I would stay away from aluminum Jon tillers in our part of the world. Especially if being sold by some 20 year old kid with a duck on his hat. That’d be like buying a “slightly used, good condition” elephant from Barnum and Bailey’s.

Progress has been made easy by standing on the shoulders of the giants around this little corner of the internet. It might be a few weeks before I get back to the marsh. When St. Patrick’s day is near the sac-a-lait start pulling me into Mississippi. Will be reading the reports though.

My console isn’t that tall and I usually sit unless I’m up in some shit. Probably Geremy. That blob in the back looks like the ice chest he had on a frame. Yall were the only 2 I saw around there.
-
Nice bumping into ya’ll. Hopefully y’all stayed dry on the way back. Certainly have the boat to do it. We had white caps in Third Bay but thankfully it was a tailing wind.

I’m pretty open about locations here but everyone outside of here only knows that I catch them in the water. Or if they ask for more exact locations then it’s in the corner of the mouth.
