I’ve spent my last few lunch breaks scratching out a .kml file that probably mimics your Delacroix plan for the same day. My routes are almost sarcastically hugging northern and eastern shorelines. I’ll post it if my chances to be able to go ever get above 50/50. I can’t decide if the wind will make the tide bottom out sooner or make it drop for longer. Or just bottom out lower at about the same time. Sounds like you believe the latter with a long stall before it comes back up. Hope to get the hull wet and find out but need your kind of luck in the “handler” department… if I go it’ll be the 5th time out of the last 6 weekends.

The images look like what I think they should. Reef balls and a pile attached.

But you’re right. I absolutely better go make sure the temp is reading right. Thinking the best – strike that – only way to do that is to go dunk it in the lake right quick.

I thought that a 5° rise was odd too. Flipped back through my pictures and dyslexia most have got me – that’s what’s off. First pic had a 69.4°

Probably closer to 20 piles. Concrete, timber and steel. Most plumb, some battered, one laying almost horizontal on bottom (old rig, so maybe that was a conductor I was seeing on the scan). Mostly jigging on several sides/angles but also scraped the slip cork on the sides of a few with the bobber stop set to near-bottom.

Ahh my bad, I thought you thought I was just picking on the pleasure boat people. Too much thinking on my part.

I’ve got some good stuff marked west of the causeway we could do. Not sure if the wind will let me get too far from the shore though, but I have options that aren’t too far out there. Normally would hug the shoreline and toot around between the clovely rig and Lincoln beach with this wind but the race Marshalls will make me swing around north of the course out towards the middle of the lake. We’ll see how splashy the lake is and do what she lets us.

I saw that non-ethanol is at $4.59 at the shell so I’m sure my wallet and wife would appreciate a quick trip.

So about the crowds on the lake, I’m not waxing poetic. There is an actual boat race that will severely impede access for fishermen. I’ve been looking out the window at work all week watching the a crane at bonnabel offload racing boats.

We watched the races from the levee in bucktown last year and no way I’m messing with that.

I wasn’t referring to a report, but rather your latest blog post about fishing the long rocks.

With the wind in the MRGO I was thinking it only had to be slightly off line a bit to make one rock dam or the other ok-ish. But when I posted those images side by side it definitely stuck out that it most likely will be right down the pipe. I might develop a Biloxi marsh plan. I’ve fished it a bunch from the outside-in via Lake B and the Mississippi sound all the way into Pete’s lagoon but never attacked it from the inside-out.

RE: Seabrook

Anyone wanting to fish the southshore of the lake this weekend needs to consider the boat races. Some ramps will be closed, the course goes right smack over the west end reef, and I’m sure seabrook will look like a boat parade with all the pleasure craft coming in and out.

I don’t mind calling the guy for my parish on the number listed in your link. But for us non-political folks, I’m assuming there is some gamesmanship to be considered. Do you have a script of what we’re supposed to say? “I’m your constituent from ___ parish and I want to support any legislation that pushes the pogie boats as far from our precious coastlines as possible.” Should we add more cuss words or more sirs and madams? I guess what I’m asking is, do we want to sound like a bunch of shrimp chunking ronnies or lean towards our more LAFB101 educated selves?
