Would get a good run of fish on the east side as the fresh water consolidates things and then you can write off the lake once it hits. Obviously that’s dependent on how long it’s open and how much river water gets through. SE part of the lake could still hold some fish. All that’s coming from my buddy Ty who knows the lake really well.

Having a hard time making a decision. I’d love to go recreate my day from yesterday in Lake P but I can’t be around that many boats without going crazy.

I may run to the Chandys if the wind holds up but we will see on that. If that doesn’t work I may check the long rocks and some of my old stomping grounds in Coquille and Two Trees

Your ability to create an online community with a great culture is seriously unmatched. That is no easy task with how ego driven the angling population is in Louisiana.

    Update:

21 specks all came from 11.

Had a 18”, 19”, and 21” come on the first few casts and I thought it was about to be on. Sunlight came up and it was a grind from there. Switched to a mega matrix at some point and that seemed to help with bites a bit….that or they just turned on later. I stuck with 11 the whole time so I can’t speak for anywhere else.

Ended up with two over 20” and lost another one that was easily 20”+ at the boat. Not the monsters I was after but still a fun day.

One thing to consider for Saturday…..The Point Marina only has one back down available right now so get there super early if you plan on fishing this weekend. Have a feeling the lake is gonna be a boat show for the ages.

Thank you so much for coming and supporting, Will. It was great to meet you and @neilnmel out there. LAFB Elite members accounted for 2nd and 3rd place. If that doesn’t show you the value of what Devin brings to the table then I have no idea what to tell you lol. I will post my own report from pre-fishing and the tournament as soon as I can catch up on sleep and work. Ill just leave a little nugget for now: As of Thursday-Saturday, Ameda, the long rocks, and Lena are all worth considering. Moreseo the first two. Also, do not be afraid to stop on the north side of the dam.

That was by far the most I’ve seen. Only my 3rd trip so not the biggest sample size, though. I’ll still take that over the mass hysteria at the trestles or bievenue lol

I’ve told myself to never pass up an opportunity to go out there. Gotta put eyes on it as many times as possible while it’s still here

My hands/forearms cramped multiple times lol. I’ve been on a ketogenic diet for a while now so getting my electrolytes dialed in has been a chore with this heat.
