Great report, glad to see you found some trout in Lafitte. Would’ve never guessed that those kind of trout are still in the Pen at this point in the Spring, but props to you for getting on them! Palm island and Manilla were also holding fish just a couple weeks ago, I’m sure it’ll turn on again when the water clears up and this wind lies down.

Hope it helps! Yessir exactly. I think it will die down soon. Last year was better towards the end of April/early May

Sure was, the wind certainly wasn’t predicted to be as bad on windfinder. Made the best of it anyway. Definitely check out Hackberry, maybe south little lake too for cleaner water. I couldn’t explore like I wanted to with the wind, maybe next time. It should only get better. Forgot to mention earlier, all the trout were full of roe, should be getting ready for the spawn soon

Thanks man, hope it helps y’all get on em. Good choice on a boat as well, I think those things are immortal if you take care of em. Mine was my grandfather’s from 95, I’m determined to keep it running for the next 20 years lol

They were in about 5-6 foot of water, I fished the shallower areas some with not much to show for it. Lots of shrimp, and it was a rising tide. I would’ve liked to have fished a falling tide but it rose most of the day.

One of my friends is a guide in Lafitte and he said he brings mini fireworks to deal with the dolphins lol. Light one and drop it in, send them running for a little bit.
