Nice report and awesome trip. I’ve been wanting to check out Pass a Loutre, so I’m glad you were able to find some nice trout and give some intel.

Venice is just so tremendous

It does look a bit windy, but one of the benefits of Venice is that you can use the river for protection. The wind is coming from the Southeast Saturday and Sunday, so SW Pass will be fishable and should be nice and calm.

Nice report. Typically Speckled Trout aren’t going to hang out in water deeper than like 30 ft in my experience. Those 40+ ft deep holes that are always lit up on the graph more often than not hold catfish and white trout. Mostly catfish.

Go get em brother! SW Pass is fun. You can pretty much just treat it as a milk run down the pass with a pot of gold waiting on you at the end (snapper).

Fishing is definitely a box full of surprises, no doubt about that. We didn’t fish Baptiste Collette. Had we caught a bunch of Trout in the Jump, we would’ve headed over to BC next and fished some ledges. Last year when they were in the Jump, they were just as thick if not thicker over in Baptiste Collette.
