Possibly. It’s hard to tell from that picture. If you zoom in on it, you should be able to see the Oyster Boat. Usually the drag marks they leave are muddy looking.

I am so happy you posted this. I’ve been considering the same thing. I too have a useless handheld VHF, and a Garmin inReach, but I feel that it is not enough. I’ve considered an EPIRB to attach to my life vest and/or boat, but I really want to be able to make calls in the event something goes wrong. I’ve considered Starlink, so I’m excited to hear how it works for you. Looking forward to you reporting back.
I’ve also considered Starlink at my house, so maybe I’ll just bundle everything up eventually. If I’m not mistaken, they’re working on having Starlink cell coverage, so that may eliminate the need for a Garmin altogether.

What are you plans for powering it? I assume a compact, high amp hour battery?

Excellent to hear about how easy it is to set up.
That $1600 battery box looks awfully similar to a YakPower Battery Box that kayak anglers use to power their gear.

Now the plug would be an issue, but that could probably be rigged up some kind of way to work.
That particular box you put your own batteries in, but all in all, well under $1600.
Also, are you planning on mounting it on your boat somehow, or just busting it out only when you need it?

Fourchon! My little brother has connections down there and fished Fourchon last weekend. They went out to Timbalier and Casse Tete and caught a few trout and redfish. Nothing special, but they aren’t Spoonpluggers like you.

Yes, it can run on 24V or 36V. It was already pulling a wake on 24V lol. That thing is a beast. I’m jacked about more power at lower speeds now running it on 36V.
