I saw 10 redfish total. Made a good cast on 4 of them. All 4 rejected my lure. I also saw 5 Sting Rays, tons of crabs, and 1 sheepshead.

We caught 1 rat red (blind casting in a bayou) and 4 undersized speckled trout in Lake Borgne.

We got annihilated by a storm on the way in. The ride through the Rigolets was quite sporty.

    Tough day.

Man what a grind of a trip. Unfortunately it sounds eerily similar to how my last trip went out that way. The water around East Timbalier is triggering quite honestly. It’s just so clean and perfect with bait everywhere. Why is there no trout there? Like seriously WTF.

Sounds like a grind. Were there any storms popping up out there?

That’s a great spot being next to Foggy Waters. I love that marina and what they have done to it.

I was throwing all different colors of Matrix. Just grabbing whatever was on top. I threw green hornet, ultraviolet, and chartreuse. They bit them all.

I also think that some of the struggles on the West side of the river may be related to the freeze. The barrier islands west of the river should be firing on all cylinders and it just doesn’t seem that way based off the reports.

Agreed on all of this. Give flouro a shot on your jigging set ups— I use 12 lb flouro more than anything and it offers plenty of sensitivity.

I was fishing the marsh north of the rigolets channel. Great conditions, just not a lot of fish. I would avoid that marsh when you go.

But his boat also looks like a delicious topwater and he rolls up blaring Kelis’s 2003 hit Milkshake.”

This is a fact. I would highly recommend a red boat with built in speakers for Milkshaking.

That was the 2nd or 3rd I graphed it. I never found it until yesterday. I’m glad I did though.

I actually jail broke Lowrance’s software to make my sonar more intense….

Kidding. You are correct— I was spot locked.

I saw them on sidescan too, though none were all that thick. No surprise there, but glad to see Trout are still hanging around in the Lake.
