Even better. 36V on a 17 ft. I use the LiTime on board charger and it’s been flawless. The whole set up has been flawless.

I run a single 36V 50ah LiTime for my trolling motor and a 12V 140ah LiTime for my cranking/house battery.

The most I’ve ever run the trolling motor battery down is to 40%, and that was after a day where I was on it heavily for like 9 hours. The cranking battery has never gotten below 90% and I run two graphs, a NMEA network, and all my boat accessories off it

It runs more efficiently at 36V, so it takes less juice to give it power. LiFePO4 batteries alone will give you more efficiency too, so at 24V you should see improvement. I would personally recommend going with a single 24V battery to save space and weight, but two 12Vs will also be fine.

“Did you guys fish the mouth of Joseph Bayou, specifically with an HDS?”

Ugh. No. I had a route planned that ran through Joseph bayou to the beaches of East Bay. When we were leaving the first spillway, an offshore guide was running through there. We decided to follow him instead of trusting the route I made. Come to find out, his track was pretty much the one I made. We didn’t even stop at Joseph Bayou.

“You let that autist temu viking get in your head!!!”

He can be quite convincing lol

I have no idea why I care so much, I’m not gonna get out there anytime soon lol”

It’s great that you care. It makes the forum that much better.

Whenever you get your new boat, hopefully it’ll be prime time Venice action and you can “break it in” by running straight to the jump for you limit.

We picked up all the redfish fishing cane stubble behind the beaches. I know cane stubble is a prime trout habitat in Venice, but we only found the redfish.

We never made it down there. @DrillNFill did and said it was a struggle. He can do some damage on the trout so if he struggled my guess is they just weren’t there.

When we got to the first spillway we were greeted with bait balls blowing up everywhere and got to work jigging. We only got a couple of short strikes and never caught anything. From there, we headed down Joseph Bayou and got into East Bay and started fishing the beaches and @WestbankJosh caught 4 redfish, two oversized. After that we met up with the crew at South Pass.

I regret not checking out SW Pass, but @ShooterMcGrabbin was so confident in his plan at the marina it got me thinking too much, so I didn’t follow through with my plan. We live and learn! I’ll be back there soon to check things out in my boat.

Overall we managed a good box with everyone’s catch combined, but @Daniel_Gig ’s boat did the majority of the damage on the trout.

The trout fishing was tough in all the places we checked, and we didn’t see any guide boats in those areas fishing trout. Maybe we went to wrong area or maybe they just aren’t doing their thing yet. That should all change in the near future though and I will be ready.

Ok, I suppose after we get tired of reeling in 24 inchers at SW Pass we will mosey on over to taste the pudding
