We didn’t catch the intended species but it didnt stop us from making a memorable trip for sure. There are at least 20 sharks out there with hooks in their mouths from me lol. That was a blast. Venice trout are on the clock….we are honing in on them and we will find them soon!

I’m wondering if age is a major factor here. Maybe as the older generation gives up fishing for health or other reasons, the drop-off from the COVID-era fishermen is happening at the same time, making it more noticeable.

I’ve personally seen a decline this year compared to last when it comes to people on the water during the week. Most of my fishing is done on weekdays, so I can’t really speak for weekends, but it definitely feels lighter out there.

@Devin – I wonder if you could run the average age of LAFB Elite users from the site data? That might give us some good perspective.

Absolutely not. They don’t provide enough details to really be useful. Most of the time it’s just a picture of a few fish with a general location like Lafitte.

I use ChatGPT because it helps me speed up writing my reports. I talk into my phone and give all the details — launch time, weather, bait, bite pattern, and more — and it organizes everything into a clean, forum-ready report. It’s actually pretty cool.

Absolutely not. They don’t give enough details to use it really. Usually, it’s a pic of fish with a general location like Lafitte…I use it bc it speeds up writing my report. I can talk to my phone giving all the details and chat gpt organizes it into a forum ready report. Its pretty cool.
