1. Just go off Bay Gardene. It’ll be close enough. There is so much tidal lag far enough inside the marsh that it can be a “it is what it is” situation and you’ll just have to fish what you can.
2. If it looks like chocolate milk, then don’t fish it. If it’s deeper water I would graph it anyway. If there’s redfish piled up there then there’s no way you’re going to miss it.
I think you’re overthinking this.
If it were me (and you know dang well I would find redfish if I launched there on the 11th) I would look for grass mats and fish the edge of them for redfish, even if it’s muddy right up against them. But what I fish before that is wherever grass filters the water. There’s almost always going to be a channel of clean water running between the grass mat and the shoreline.
I would not treat Delacroix like salt marsh where milfoil doesn’t grow in abundance. It’s a lot fresher (which is a good thing) and that makes finding the clear (or clearer) water a lot easier.
I wouldn’t stop the boat to fish until I found that good looking water.
And I’d give myself a head start by identifying places with grass mats on GED and loading those into my GPS and checking them all. Literally running across the marsh like the Tasmanian Devil.
Which you may wanna do because it’s gonna be hot, and that Cajun A/C sure is nice.
Also, cover your ankles. I just wear pants.
