All good questions. It takes me about 50 minutes to get to my slip down the road from Campos. I have to wash off all the spiders and poop (10 min) before I roll down to Campos (10 min) for bait, ice, and potentially gas (10 min). Then I usually run 20-40 minutes to get to fish. So altogether I’m looking at 1h 40m to 2h to be fishing. If I run down to Venice, it takes about 1:30 for me. If the boat is stored indoors and thus not needing to be cleaned off, they fill up my gas before I even get there, and it’s waiting for me in the water to hop in, then it feels like a wash in terms of time invested to be fishing. It feels like out of Venice, I have more options for targeting more species of fish depending on the conditions. I could be totally off on all of this. Boat retrieval time could be a nightmare. Not sure if they have trailer storage. Not sure what it looks like with a hurricane coming and getting your boat out along with everyone else. Hopefully I can find someone who keeps their boat there to get a take on their experience.
