Why don’t you use the process I teach inside 101? That would fill in most of the blanks here, and ultimately lead you to much better success inshore fishing.
I personally feel that you are otherwise setting yourself up for failure.

So you plan on throwing topwater after throwing a cork and not catching anything under it? Sounds like a waste of time. You won’t have much time to find fish. It’s July. It’s hot outside.

Your plan is to just drive around and look for clean water? Sounds like a time-wasting scavenger hunt and a good way to discover oil field trash with the only lower unit on your boat.
I know the courses aren’t as fun as other things. I understand that it’s work. But it’s substantially less work than what I endured learning it, even less than what you would have to personally undertake, and the fastest shortcut to knowing where to go and what to do.
If there were a better way, I would have made it. But there’s not.
What I’m looking for from you: the spots you want to fish, why you picked them out, how you’re gonna get to them and back to the dock.
That’s something I can give you some real feedback on.
Until then, all I can say is “yes, you can do the beach”. Maybe also try the Fourchon Barges and other rock piles in the area.
