Yes, Sweetwater is a great place to launch.
But, I do like Beshel’s because it is less frequented.
There’s no amenities there. Just a toilet, a dude to collect $10 and a shoddy launch. But it’s in the heart of redfish country. You can run north from there to fish all the same stuff the Delacroix guides do.
A lot of the area has been silted in for the last 15 years. It’s easy to run aground there. I have several times. It’s a textbook area to do GED homework.
So maybe launch at Sweetwater. Look at the recent planning posts for ideas on where to fish around there.
Yes, you can get on trout, but you are making a super early run out to Black Bay and beyond. I’m not sure if you’re up for that right now.
