I suppose trout can be anywhere on them, but think about how trout use current breaks and you will figure it out by the time you’re done reading this sentence.
As for where to start: well, when you can figure that out let me know. LOL Any of those places can be good.
Given what you came up with, if you start out at Timbalier, then you’d be wasting time to run over to the barges, because all your spots are around Timbalier.
I have a hunch that the barges and east side of Belle Pass could have the cleanest water. If it were me, I’d get an early start to graph/fish the Barges, then hit Belle Pass, then end up at Timbalier.
Very important: I’d be ready to fish a jig (as light as 1/8 oz) up against and into the rocks. Trout will hide from sharks and dolphins there. So non-Elites will pull up to the rocks (at wherever) cast a cork by it, then get bit off by bluefish, spanish mackerel or whatever then give up. But they missed the trout that were up against the rocks.
A floating jerkbait can be good, too. Sometimes it doesn’t get deep enough, however.
