I like the strong incoming tide. I like the spots picked out based on wind. I like the big points you have picked out for trout. Isn’t there an artificial reef in the SW corner of the lake? I’d be interested to see what that looks like.
After that, it sounds like you’re starting from scratch and you’re gonna find out “where they ain’t”.
Look at my last fishing report. 30 spots and 112 miles to find them from scratch. That’s an epic effort and usually doesn’t take that much, but it did that day. Of course, now that I know where they are and how they’re eating, I have a better idea as where/how to expand my success. And so does the rest of the Community, and they have already built upon my success.
Also, the rock jetties at the end of the ship channel have always fascinated me. Reminds me of Belle Pass. Surely there has to be specks, reds, and more there when the wind allows. I’m not sure it will on the day of your trip.
I do like the ponds you picked out to pole. But I wouldn’t overlook the entire southern shoreline east of spot 11. It looks like there’s a hard/sandy shoreline at the weir by Wakefield Road (see attached). And there are more like that further east down that shoreline. I’d look for reds and flounder there. You’ll be protected from the wind, and I’ve had more success finding bulls in “big” water than little dinky-ass ponds.
I’d run east to get the sun behind my back then work west.
I love spot 8.
That pond off West Fork could be good, too. See attached.
Good luck!
