Yeah, that wind isn’t great for the outside. That’s fine, though. Just adjust accordingly.
So, I would do one of two things, one is short sighted, the other is not:
First thing: I’d fish the MRGO south of the Rock Dam, fishing points with tidelines, coves for redfish, moving with a purpose, not dawdling around. I’d hit the south side of the Rock Dam and absolutely beat it up, then roll around to the north side and hit that up.
I’d either do this first thing in the morning, or wait for that falling tide to start ripping out (fish the afternoon), or pack a lunch and do both.
Second thing: I would scratch all that to take a leisurely drive to Venice and establish safe routes across the area, from the marina across Zin Zin Bay, across the top of East Bay and all the way to Blind Bay, then take Pass a Loutre home. I would be ready to catch zero fish and be happy with just getting those tracks.
The wind is forecast to blow much softer in Venice, and you can totally do SouthWest Pass. If I fished anywhere, I would fish the weirs and spillways there, then fish the mouth of Joseph Bayou.
Maybe don’t bring fishing rods. Just some podcasts, a cooler full of drinks/snacks and enjoy the boat ride. When the river pops off you will be thankful you did that homework, which will be a lot better than posting here “I’m thinking about going to Venice” once you see all the badass reports coming out of there and the same ol’ usual dogsh*t coming out of everywhere else. Fight for keepers and weed through throwbacks at Martello Castle/Wall/Seabrook/Trestles amongst the troglodytes or smash solid keepers like a grown ass man as if you were Daniel Boone punching through the Cumberland Gap.
