That’s a long day on the water.
FWIW, I carry extra shear pins on the boat, and tools to change them. I’ve only had sheared pins a couple times in the last ten years, but it’s a show-stopper when it does happen. Also a massive PITA to change if its deformed into the plastic hub at all.
But, in your situation, I just would’ve gone home and changed it in the comfort of a garage.
