really depends on where you fish, there is some passes that will have trout starting to migrate in mid August but it won’t be massive amounts of trout. September will better, October is usually really good. then Time change, or fall patterns start with the less light hours because it starts a hormonal change in the fish, also the shrimp migrate too. In the past I’d fish for bass in the summer with an occasional redfish trip and start to fish for trout as they migrated into the fall pattern, my favorite time to fish. There was some August fishing trips where I was fishing for redfish in Lake Catherine and just so happen to find a bunch of trout feeding unexpectedly and end up catching a mess.
