I’m with you on getting out of aluminum. They just don’t make those transoms strong enough. For the ones who do (Gator Trax), it’s cheaper/easier to get into a glass boat.
Yeah, you may not be able to confidently get into those ponds as easily, but the tradeoff is being able to access the open water stuff much better.
I’d rather have a shot at snapper than stressing out looking for redfish. I really enjoy sight fishing, but the redfish have taken such a beating, and I have beat myself up so much looking for them, that I’m kinda okay taking a long term break from it.
