Devin, maybe because the water was 20′ deep they may have been suspending? I’m thinking about all the times I fished Seabrook back in the day and a lot of times they were suspended. I often times caught fish throwing a shrimp up current then letting it drift with just a split shot and also many times using sliding corks. Not saying you’re wrong in that they don’t usually suspend, just wondering if the depth has something to do with it if like you said they were in fact trout showing up on the sonar.
