I’m no Jack expert but my fly fishing buddies seem to think you need the water in the lake to be warm-hot. I’ve seen the blowing up everywhere from the east side poles south of the hospital wall to the beaches east and west of goose point. My buddies will drive around, look for them blowing up, and then park a couple hundred yards upwards of the direction they are headed. They wait for the jacks to come to them. No clue why that’s the preferred SOP but they do it enough to trust that it makes sense.
