Jerkbait, I would jerk it and let it rise a bit and jerk and reel again
That brown tweaker was on a 3/8 oz. I think. It was pretty heavy and the current was than strong. So I figured it might have been looking unnatural because it was sinking too fast after I would pop it twice.
So I went with the lighter 1/8 OZ (I think) with the Matrix shad. And that white one is a Slam Shady 2.0 with an 1/8 oz. As well.
I would cast to the pilings and let it drip slowly so as the make sure the lighter jig head got to the bottom.
I did get hung up a lot, so.
Oh, also, at first when I was using the heavier jig head I was getting all kinds of algae on my lure, the long brown one.
When I switched to the lighter ones I didn’t get grass the rest of the day.
So maybe I wasn’t reaching bottom?
