Congrats, that makes two of us. lol
What kind of shrimp were they? I know in Delacroix during spring we will get another push of white shrimp. Brief, but it happens and trout form up on them.
This is different from brown shrimp because brown shrimp don’t punch as far into the estuary as white shrimp do.
So if there’s some white shrimp making their way out then they will do so from much deeper in the estuary where I’ve been led to believe it’s too “fresh” for brown shrimp.
So knowing that species difference is important.
If they are brown shrimp, then that would be a head scratcher and a sign of the Saltening.
Either way, knowing that shrimp pattern is key. I’d apply fall fishing strategy for the weekend.
I’m assuming the water was falling where you caught those fish at the end?
