Yeah i guess your right… I guess i mean i wasn’t fishing my own plan lol. I know fishing with josh has opened my eyes to the benefit of an angler network. In all my previous years my only network has been reading reports, and grinding. I have a few fishing buddies that id occasionally bounce ideas off of, like your buddy Capt. Adam Shields… He would point me in the right direction when i was just lost (multiple bad trips in a row). But other than that, it was lots of all day trips solo fishing different areas and trying different things. But yeah, i’m just starting to build my network, and it definitely helps.

Something I’m noticing though is that even when someone says “go here, at this time, use technique, etc. etc.” 99.9% of the time it just doesn’t always work out the same way. When i discovered my love for the MRGO winter jigging, it was because Adam had sent me that way because he caught like a million sheepshead the day prior… I went and caught zero sheepshead but stubbled across the trout bite. And have expanded on that experience every winter since…

I try to remember the areas we fish are EXTREMELY vast in comparison when your tossing a 3″ paddle tail in 10′ of water, only covering 50 yards of water a cast; Trying to hit a unseen MOVING target that could be as small as a few feet in diameter. Its amazing that we catch as much as we do! lol
