The answer is “No”.
The reason is because I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN DOING WHAT CHAZ WAS DOING. For all the reasons you mentioned.
This tells me to keep learning as much proper technique as I can. And enjoy the process in the meantime.
As far as him giving slack to get to the bottom, that’s exactly what he was doing.
He would let the lure fall. Then after giving his three pops he would let it fall all the way again.
Re: lure color. Thank you! I totally get it. He’s making a living doing this and I don’t blame him for promoting his “color of the day.” I just don’t want to get all hyped up and chase after something that actually has nothing to do with proper fishing technique. And from your answer, the color on this day had nothing to do with fishing technique.
