Yeah, I’m guessing you didn’t look at Windfinder at all.
*IF* the wind plays nice you can get out to fish the Sound and fish the reefs and islands there. I know there’s also a slew of reefs on/near the beach that are worth your time as well as dredge holes you can see on imagery with clear water. I’d look at those.
Of course, you can run south to EBM and fish stuff there, too. You have a lot of options so long as the wind allows. Your 22′ Bay Stealth will get you across rough patches to lee water if that’s the case, but it’s not.
“I realize this area might be a bit east of where most of you normally fish”
It’s not and it sets up the same as anywhere else. You can totally catch fish out there (if the wind isn’t whipping).
Aaaaand it looks like you’re gonna have 20mph+ wind screaming out of the southeast. Yeah, no.
I personally wouldn’t bother with it. That’s me. I’m fine waiting for better wind. I would stay home and do tackle/maintenance.
“Half Moon might be an option depending on the weather as would the north east shore of Lake Borgne.”
The east side of Lake Borgne will be doable but you will 100% take an ass whipping getting there. Same for the lee water of Half Moon.
I would consider fishing the lee side of Cat Island. Plenty of shoreline to fish and you’ll be protected but you are 100% taking a brutal ass whipping getting there. I personally wouldn’t go. If I did, I would launch from Long Beach or Gulfport. Launching from BSL would be the worst way to go about it.
You could fish protected water in Heron Bay or even trailer to Biloxi Bay.
