I heard Mike Gallo say it was the best Trout year he’s had in a long, long time. Especially in Lake Pontchartrain itself.
Another thing I found interesting is that he said, in his opinion, the new limits have nothing to do with the influx of Speckled Trout we are catching. He pointed to the low river and healthy fishery (“The Saltening”) as his biggest influencers of the strong finish to our season. I would tend to agree with that.
The redfish is a whole different story and I’m with you whole heartedly on that. The lack of slot redfish is sad to see.
