Shimano definitely stands the test of time. I began buying the Calcutta in the 90’s and have five different models including the 200GB. When I started being able to buy my own reels low profile baitcasters were for the bass guys not trout guys. Now with more knowledge they both have their place inshore. As far as experimenting with a $400.00 dollar reel I’ll probably not. The standard has been invented and honed by Shimano, Daiwa, etc. no sense wasting money. Buy what’s proven and time tested and learn to fish. That’s why this forum is great no bs just experience and proven ways to accomplish what we all love, inshore fishing.
