Cool, thanks for following up. I saw that Capt. Jack limited out with a two person group too. They were out there, I just didn’t get on them. In hindsight, I think my buddy and I kept getting distracted and speculating in some new areas, which isn’t always bad, and I think the people that did well were in spots just like my first spot, at the opening of a bayou/canal into or out of a large body. Places where you could throw into the flats from deeper water and take advantage of that transition. This is my first winter fishing Delacroix so I’m still a newbie out there.
I’ve been putting off the purchase of a new trolling motor because I think I’ll upgrade my boat in the next three years, but I’m going to just go ahead and buy at least a used one, with spot lock. There’s a guy who does used trolling motors on 4th street in Harvey whom I’ve bought stuff from before. That guy in Chalemette is kind of a rip off though, he overcharges. I’ll buy one I could transfer to another boat.
