@Devin Dude the whole experience was crazy with the fog. I couldn’t see anything and as soon as I got closer to the LNG plant I was like damn these must be workers going to work. They know the roads so they can fly in the fog. I’m not familiar with the area and the roads are garbage. Forgive me for not wanting to launch my boat onto the highway in the fog. Or run over an animal (to my surprise I saw zero).
Fishing the jump with such a heavy current was wild. In 20-30’ I’d cast up current, I’d feel bottom, then if I lifted the rod at all the baits were drifting. I missed a million bites.
It’s a shame I didn’t get out there till late, the whole time in the jump I kept thinking “go explore, this will be here later”. I did eventually do that but idk I wish that I had explored more. I really want to go with someone who knows that area. Footage I’ve seen of Southwest past jetties looks like my style of fishing. But that would’ve been a hell of a first time run, and doing it solo…
It was awesome. But kinda like a grand isle trip. It’s a trip. It makes sense why they have a million rentals there. I would like to do a weekend down there. When does Venice turn on for big trout? Spring? I’ll have to research
That road is a lot of wear and tear on the trailers I know that. I’m surprised there isn’t more businesses down there.
Thanks for inspiring me to go everyone.
