I want you to crush them so let me give you more details lo

I caught the majority of my trout on a 4 Horseman with 3ft of 20lb FC leader with a 1/16th oz Deathgrip jighead and a chartreuse sparkle beetle at the end. I did catch a few on the Mirrodine, but it was practically a comedy routine watching them pick the cork over the Mirrodine.

I went to that point “Flat 1” right away and that’s where I got on them. But I did fish a lot of the southern shoreline at “Rocks” and pretty much caught them along the way, and other boats must have as well because they were spread out along it. I was about 100-200 yards off the shoreline in 4-5ft of water. Stay in 4-5ft of water.

I also recommend using a drift sock to drift. You may not need one since the wind will be so low on Wednesday, so check your GPS to ensure you are drifting ~0.5mph. Anything over 1mph is too fast. Yes, it makes a difference. If you don’t have a drift sock then Gus can make one for you with a trip line at Gus’ Tackle in Slidell. He is open tomorrow.

    Drift and pop that cork.

Ensure you are there popping a cork for the butt crack of dawn. Take advantage of that early light, they bite best then.

What makes Decade unique is that it’s a lot like Salvador and how Pontchartrain used to be: tons of shells on the bottom. But I found the most texturous, shell-laden bottom to be at “Flat 1”. You want to be about 100 yards away from the shore.

Also, people get close to each other in Decade. The Greater NOLA area is like a bunch of prudes who cannot stand the sight of a naked man, whereas Dularge is like a bunch of sailors packed nekkid into an open shower room. People drift close to each other and say hi in Dularge. They even run their boats past each other, cook boudin and blare music and it’s normal. It’s like visiting another country. Maybe bring your passport.
