The river still looks like garbage. I’m not saying that there isn’t any good fishing in Venice, I’m just saying that the action-filled, emerald green water that we see when the river is low probably isn’t gonna be there when you make it down here. Fortunately for you, you’re looking for redfish, and I think you can still have those fishing riprap on the banks of the river, or fishing channels coming off the river, like what you described. Just remember that duck hunters will be out there, even if its the split (I don’t recall at the moment) they’ll still be out there checking their leases and may be unappreciative of you so much as looking at “their” water. It depends on the duck hunter. That’s why I like the river. I think you should also consider Pass a Loutre, Cheniere Pass and anywhere there’s cane stubble and it’s protected from the wind. It looks like you’re gonna have a cold front hit on the 5th and 6th.
