Great trip and great report man. I wouldn’t feel bad about smacking them right by the marina under birds. If thats the conditions that were presented to you and you took advantage of that, then good on you.
I’ve only fished this area once and it was in a Kayak, but I’ve heard now is the time to go if you want to catch Speckled Trout. And I think you confirmed that.
