    Yes, 30lb test braid equivalent of 10lb mono diameter.

    I definitley have not paid enough attention to re-tying knots before a new trip or lines drying out and losing strength. My equipment is storage my garage but obliviously no temperature control. Considering I only make a few fishing trips a year that would make a make sense.

    Two of my bait casters are all fluro or mono and the other one is braid to fluro or mono.

    I like braid with fluro or mono leader on my three spinng reels especially for casting distance. I use 15 or 20lb test leader on the spinning reels which will handle just about any fish I would hook up with but if I snag will it will break off at the uni knot.

    Some of the advice in the replies of this post may help but broken lines and snags will certainly remain a part of fishing.
