Great report. Thank you for sharing. I went out to EBM today. Calm in the AM, but about the time I was getting across Borgne, I noticed some large swell starting. Wind mostly out of the east and getting stronger, so those oyster reefs that have been productive for me around Fox bay, Deepwater pass, Elephant point pass, etc were just not kicking today. Water was dirty because of those east winds.
Ran back to bayou marron and into the bayou biloxi, but nothing was really kicking. I did see some birds, but only dinks. Got back into Borgne and it was way worse than I left it. I tried to stop at the reef and rigs on my way back to the L&N, but it just wasn’t right. Ran quickly through counterfeit pass on the way back since I like that place on a falling tide, but nothing. Ran back through Catherine hoping to see a few birds on my way back to my lake house by the twin span, but nothing.
Bummer day, it had been on FIRE in those areas for me as of late, but those EAST winds were formidable and the east EBM has no protection. Otherwise, it was sunny and not really hot at all. Water temps in AM @ 83 and when getting back were @ 88. Cant wait for a good cold front!
Took the boat out the water today (usually in a slip mostly) and going to do all the servicing needed to get ready for this awesome fall that is hopefully gonna be on fire!
