I like HU for the winding turns of the marsh. I once tried NU, but in dark conditions and especially foggy conditions when I am relying on radar, it is hairy as shit with NU – no thanks! Since I’m fishing home base all of the time, I’ve got a good sense of direction, plus the old compass helps when in doubt (especially when in the sound and unable to see any land).
Garmin makes a SteadyCast magnetic sensor that connects for slow steerage, but I don’t have it.
