Knowing where to go and what to do was easy. Just watch this post trip review for the day before this fishing trip.

I already had a good idea as to what the conditions were like and where fish would be, because I was on the water the day before.

It was obvious that:

  • the wind would be light
  • the tide would be falling first thing in the morning
  • where speckled trout were most likely biting

All there was left to do was launch the boat and execute the fishing trip.

However, I did bring a drop shot, an important rig not on the boat the day before. (see how I rigged it here)

The dropshot would compliment my jigging rod, and that turned out to be spot on.

Watch the following videos and it’s clear the drop shot picked up the slack when the jig wasn’t cutting it.
