I fished the same area this morning. I got to comfort isle around 6 and there were already four boats there it didn’t look like anyone was doing anything so I went t the scow pass and picked up about ten, only one went in the box, lots of action just no size. After this I went to Martin Island and as MLeBlanc said there was plenty of action by two boats on the furthest west point. I’m not sure what they were catching but the kids were having a great time. I picked up one keeper. Made my way to fish the oyster reefs picked up a few dinks and one keeper along a trash line running through Reef 4. All the fish were about the same size about 11.5 to 12.5, I’m not sure how fast a trout grows but there should be a bumper crop real soon of 13 inch fish. A storm started brewing but I couldn’t out run it it was a Hellashish storm. Put on rain gear and still got soaked, that’s why I always carry a change of clothes in the truck when I go. MLeblanc didn’t mention the sand flies, they were HORRIFIC! I believe Marsh Romance and Marsh Hawk are sand fly pheromones sure acted like it. I had some old cactus juice in the boat and this calmed the natives down enough to fish. Tough day but still got a few fish and a lot of small fish released plus learned a new area.
