“Not sure what piece of the puzzle I was missing today”

It was the fish. They’re not there.

Well, I hate to hear you got the same result I did. I think that you did the best there could have possibly been done, it’s just that the fish weren’t there. You can’t catch fish in empty water. I don’t have reason to believe that one is going to find great fishing everywhere, and if they weren’t there when it was warm, I doubt one would find them there when it was cold.

With that said, if I were to fish those areas again, I would need to see a lower water temp. It’s still in the low to mid 60’s if I am reading the varying stations correctly. I bet those trout aren’t going to come off the Trestles that easily. The shrimp are still leaving. When the trout do leave the lake, I bet they go into the ICW by Boh Bros, because that’s where they went last year.

I’ll give you credit for trying anyway and trying a bunch of other spots without having your hand held. There’s something to be said about that. But getting your ass kicked is a risk that comes with that territory. lol It’s just part of the game.

I really don’t want to fish the Trestles either, outside of shooting (another) video for it. I would definitely look hard at the rigs outside of Kenner, the reef balls and open-water birds, maybe even the lakefront.

    Great report, thanks for posting!
